Mapa Metodky and the website of the Flâner magazine are made by students of Gymnázium Metodova in Bratislava. We do not want to know more about you than we need to run the site and to see whether people use it.
What we collect
Anonymous usage statistics: which pages were opened, what was searched for on the map, whether it was found, which articles were read and which links were clicked.
We store nothing on your device, no cookies and no identifiers. To count unique visitors, the server creates a one-way fingerprint from the IP address and the browser type. It changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. The IP address itself is not stored in the statistics.
Cookies
We use no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. The only cookie is used to sign the editors into the admin area and lasts 12 hours. Unpublished edits of the site are also kept in the editors' browsers.
So that the map works without a signal, the browser keeps a copy of the site's files (floor plans, fonts, pages) and the room list it loaded last. These are the same files you would download again anyway; they hold nothing about you and are removed together with the site data in your browser settings.
Protecting the admin area
After a failed sign-in to the admin area we keep the IP address it came from for 15 minutes. This protects the site against password guessing.
Suggestion form
If you send us a suggestion or report a mistake, we store the text of the message, its type, the page you sent it from and your contact details if you fill them in. The contact is optional and we use it only to reply.
The message is delivered by e-mail to the author of the site through the Resend service and kept in the database for at most one year. To prevent spam we create an encrypted fingerprint of the IP address, which is deleted within an hour.
Where the data is stored and for how long
The site runs on Vercel and the data is stored in an Upstash database. Vercel may keep technical access logs, including IP addresses, under its own rules.
Statistics are kept for at most 400 days and are then deleted automatically.
Links to other sites
The site links to Instagram and Linktree. Once you open them, the rules of those services apply.
Your options and contact
Because the statistics are anonymous and we store nothing on your device, we cannot link them to a particular person, nor search for or delete them by person.
